Ever wanted to publish your 3D cad so that it can be rotated and zoomed? Here's a handy tool, it's called JavaView and can be run as a stand alone application on Macs, Windoze and Linux.
Or embeded in a post like this:
View ExampleIt can be used to display and convert 3D geometry files. Supported file types are: Stereo-lithography .stl, Wavefront 3D object .obj and Virtual Reality Modeling Language .wrl files.
There's a whole bunch of gadgets for manipulating views: Pan, zoom and scroll - Material: color, transparency, show/hide points, edges, facets and boundary's. Axes, grids and on ... Do a right click and pick 'Help'.
To make a link you need to put your file somewhere on the web, then 'Insert Hyperlink' in your post, like this: {url=http://www.unionsteam.co.uk/cad-view?file=URL-of-YourFile}Title{/url} where i've used curly { } you should use square [ ].
The full version available here:
JavaView
A note for Abby - You can put yours in share/web then use ?
http://www.unionsteam.co.uk/files/file-name NO spaces or punctuation in the name please. Export OBJ from ViaCad works best. STL works too but, turn the facet count down for faster viewing!
